Cinemas in Benidorm

Bad weather in Benidorm? A blockbuster movie you really really want to see? No problem whatsoever in Benidorm!

There are 3 big cinemas in Benidorm and I also pointed one out in Alicante. In Spain, almost all movies are dubbed in Spanish. Very difficult to follow, even if you know some basic Spanish. Sometimes however, they have the film in the original language with Spanish subtitles. These movies always have V.O. / V.O.C. behind their title, indicating it is the Version Original. Lets have a look at the different cinemas in Benidorm.

The cinema Colci in the center of
Benidorm.
Cinema Colci in the Avenida de Los Limones. This cinema is right in the center of Benidorm. You may have to search a little, because it is somewhere in the middle of a network of small streets. You will find it though, it is at the corner with the Av. de los Almendros. It is a reasonable sized cinema with a place to eat and drink. On the forums of the web, it says that this cinema has one movie in VOC, but when we visited the cinema, the lady at the counter told us there were no English spoken movies at the time. Maybe only in high season? The cinema is in streets where you hardly will find an English tourist (or maybe a lost one), so maybe it is not worth investing in an English spoken movie... They do have a parking lot around the corner (Calle Apolo XI) for what its worth...

Cinema Colci Rincon is of course from the same chain as the cinema above. This cinema certainly does have one English spoken movie, which changes every week. You can easily find which movie on their website (http://www.cinescolci.com/cartelera/ver/colci-rincon), just check the one with VOC behind the title. The cinema is in the Rincon de Loix area, maybe a little to far from most of the hotels in Benidorm. It is next to the Melia complex in Av. De Zamora, a side street of the famous Av. Ametlla de Mar.
You can reach the cinema with a bus. Best is to take a look at a bus stop or ask at your hotel reception which number to take (changes quite often). People with a rental car will be happy to know there is a big parking lot next to the cinema. Although mostly filled with cars, you probably will find a spot on the lot or on the street in front of the cinema.

Cines IMF in the La Marina Shopping Center on the outskirts of Benidorm offers 9 cinemas, but sadly enough all are dubbed. Strange that they do not have any film English spoken since the Shopping Center also attracts a great number of tourists from the UK.

Outside of Benidorm, all the way in Alicante, there is a Kinepolis cinema in the beautiful mall Centro Commercial Plaza Mar 2. According to their website, they have 5 different movies in VOC (English spoken). A little to far to just “catch a movie”, but I included it in the list for making an effort in not dubbing all their films. There is a parking lot next to the mall and before the movie starts, you could do some shopping. The shops are open until 10 PM (!) and some bars and restaurants are open until 3 AM (!). So after the movie, there is still some time to drink and chat...

SO the best choice for tourists in Benidorm is Cinema Colci Rincon. You can reach it with different buses (or take a taxi) and the tourists who stay in the Rincon area could just walk to the cinema. It is kinda poor that they only have one movie in English, so check on the web before going... An advantage however is that you don't have to make a difficult choice what movie to take...
